Annual Report 2023– 2024

Respected dignitaries, well wishers, parents, staff and students, with the grace of God we have stepped into the 57th successful year. Our school has always strived for excellence in all areas, grounded in the principles and vision of our foundress BL. Anne Marie Javouhey. Our school nurtures young girl children to develop into upright, loyal citizen imbued with love for God and compassion to fellow beings. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. The academic year 2023-2024 has been remarkable in many ways and we are delighted to share our journey and achievements.

First let's delve into our academic achievements. The sincere efforts of our students and staff in the board exam has brought laurels to the school. Our school toppers for STD XII board exam are as follows. Dharaani R stood first with an excellent score of 594/600. Aishwarya A.R. stood second securing 592/600 and Joshi J stood third securing 589/600.

Out of 286 students who appeared for the CBSE 10th board exam, Késika secured the first place with the total of 482 out of 500. Swetha came second with a total of 481; While Iniyal secured the third place with 479. Dhanaranjani took the fourth place with a score of 478 out of 500. Cheers to the top scorers!

Our students secured centum results in an array of subjects including physics. Botany, Zoology, Maths, Accountancy, Economics commerce & Computer science respectively, thereby demonstrating their exceptional academic prowess and dedication to excellence.

In the X CBSE board exam, our students exhibited outstanding performance. Two students secured a perfect score of 100 in Tamil and 3 students achieved a centum in Mathematics. Additionally 15 students scored 90% and above while 8o students attained marks of 80% and above showcasing their academic excellence.

Moving on to the co-curricular activities, Harshika and S.Arul Thendral participated in the CBSE sports competition for Rifle shooting which was held at Andhra Pradesh. Our students from grade VI to XII actively participated in different sports competition held at Chennai and Dharmapuri and won medals, certificates and trophies in Badminton, Tennis, swimming and yoga.

Geneva Convention day was duly commemorated on 12th August. The observance commenced with the solemn assembly, during which the flag was ceremoniously hoisted symbolyzing our commitment to humanitarian principles.

Our students actively participated in various competency based exams such as Olympiad, Spell Bee, Clover English & Maths proficiency test, Global English Talent quest and Brain-O-Brain. These exams have catered to individual learning paces allowing students to progress and master specific competencies.

Cuddalore revenue district basic training for club masters, flock leaders, scout masters guide captains and Bunny aunties was held in our school. It provided participants with essential skills and knowledge to effectively lead and mentor their respective groups. Our Guide captain Mrs. Malathi had the honour of leading the Basic Air Guide Leader course held at HAL Institute Technology Bangalore.

The Rajapuruskar test camp took place at Hosur, where Mrs. Malathi served as the examiner. This camp was organised to access the participants’ skill and knowledge as part of Rajapuraskar award programme.

Infrastructure development has also been a key focus this year. The introduction of high tech interactive smart boards has marked a significant mile stone in our school's infrastructure development. This initiative has not only modernized our classroom but also enriched the teaching and learning experience.

Faculty development has been another priority. Our teachers have participated for their professional development through comprehensive CBSE training program. This has enabled them to enhance the teaching skills of our faculty, ensuring that they are well equipped to deliver high quality education aligned with CBSE standards.

Speaking of the students, we have introduced several student development programs this year. We have launched mentorship programs, leadership workshops, Robotics and career counselling sessions to help students to prepare for their future. The Robotics seminar and humanoid robot project has significantly contributed to the advancement of STEM education at our school. These initiatives have not only sparked students’ interest in robotics but also provided practical experience in cutting-edge technology.

We had Kid’s Day celebration with vibrance, where our Pre-KG and KG students were engaged in various fun & educational activites. The verse speaking competition of the primary students showcased exceptional talents and eloquence. They really impressed the judges with their recitations in Tamil & English. The tiny tot’s Exhibition featured creative displays reflecting students’ hardwork and enthusiasm.

The Investiture ceremony a prestigious event in our school’s calendar was held on 28.06.24 marked the formal appointment of the student leaders who will take on various responsibilities for the academic year fostering leadership and responsibility among the students.

The festive celebrations held in our school:

This year, our school hosted several colourful events and festivities. Teacher’s day featured a cultural program appreciating our gurus. Mother Foundress day was commemorated with special assembly and several activities. We celebrated major religious festivals like Diwali, Christmas & Pongal with inclusive cultural displays. Days of National importance included a flag hoisting ceremony & patriotic presentations. Sports day showcased athletic competitions, team spirit, honouring of jubilarians and retiring staff and motivational word from the guest of honour.

Parent Teacher Engagement has been vital to our success. We have organised regular parent teacher meetings and seminars to keep parents informed and involved in their children's education. This collaboration has been instrumental in supporting our student’s academic and personal growth.

Let me now draw your attention on some of the collaborative activities of our school with NLCIL. This year in collaboration with NLCIL our school conducted various enriching activities for students from VI to XII. High lights included a science exhibition on global science for global well being, a field visit to the regional Research Station, afforestation programme and a Swacchata Pakhwada campaign emphasizing cleanliness and health. Additionally, we marked the international day against drug abuse with awareness programs and student led activities. These initiatives fostered scientific curiosity, environmental responsibility and health awareness among our students.

Our spiritual growth has been equally paramount. Our regular school assemblies, Catechism, Value education classes provide a comprehensive approach to our students for holistic development. It also creates a spirit of togetherness by instilling ethical principles as morals. The counselling sessions for our students is taken care by Rev. Sr. Rachel which provides a platform for personalised support and guidance.

Together we will continue to achieve excellence and make a positive impact on our community and beyond.
